I am so excited to be finally releasing something that has been in the works for years, my book of poems. Partnering with my wonderfully talented friend, Kevin Ohlin, we present to you: “Analogies For Feelings”
Available for all: click here.
Grace wrote these poems, which I then illustrated and turned into a real life book, which you can buy if you’d like to see it.

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.”
- Proverbs 13:12 (ESV)
Facts: there are over 600 leaves on that tree.
I carved the tree (sans leaves) out of linoleum 5 years ago. The other night I dug it out, inked it up and printed it to see what would might happen.
A quick scan, some carefully arranged leaves later, this is the result.
Here is the companion illustration to the last one (Jeremiah 21:5).
Isaiah 51:5 (NLT)
My mercy and justice are coming soon.
My salvation is on the way.
My strong arm will bring justice to the nations.
All distant lands will look to me
and wait in hope for my powerful arm.
That’s a good day.
Makoto Fujimura and the Four Holy Golspels
“Visual jazz” is a great way to describe Makoto Fujimura’s artwork. I started working on some illustrations of passages in the Bible a little while back, and recently happened upon Makoto’s work. It’s so incredibly inspiring to see an artist using his talent to glorify God.

It’s time for another Bible illustration.
This time around, trying to make sense out of some of the numbers in Numbers, starting with chapter 1.
“And on the first day of the second month, they assembled the whole congregation together, who registered themselves by clans, by fathers’ houses, according to the number of names from twenty years old and upward, head by head, as the LORD commanded Moses. So he listed them in the wilderness of Sinai. ”
(Numbers 1:18,19 ESV)
At long last, the next in a series of Biblical proportions.
I bring for your consideration Numbers 2:2
The people of Israel shall camp each by his own standard, with the banners of their fathers’ houses. They shall camp facing the tent of meeting on every side.
An ever so slightly abstract textured vector illustration of Amos 5:24.
But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
If you haven’t yet, go buy Pages, the new album from Tosha Zwanziger.
All proceeds from this album will go to organizations fighting injustice around the globe.
Jason [Santa Maria] had amassed such firepower (and me, the illustrator, herp-derping his way through the job) for a very special project.
Frank Chimero, speaking of his work on this page: lostworldsfairs.com/atlantis for this project: lostworldsfairs.com
Herp-derping or not, that is some fantastic work.
